Positive decline, but still too much
Director Arild Hermstad welcomes the decline in meat consumption.
– More and more are concerned that a reduced meat consumer is good for health and the environment. In addition, I believe that more are finding that good meat-free food is more than Chinese cabbage with hamburger dressing, says Hermstad.

Increased interest in meat-food stores

Coop launched this summer one vegetarserie including burgers.
Several stores messages on increased sales of meat-free food. Norway Group reported a 28.6 percent rise in vegetarian ready meals and Coop reported that note now sells 54% more vegan products than last year.
– Customer surveys show that our customers are not necessarily buying vegetarian or vegan products because they are vegetarians or vegans, but because they want to reduce the intake of meat, says communications consultant in Norway Group Ingrid Solberg Gundersen VG line.
