Nordlie: – Completely worthless exercise – VG

ULLEVAAL (VG) (Norway – Belarus 0-1) Coach veteran Tom Nordlie (54) describes the dismal test against Belarus as completely worthless training ahead of Sunday’s World Cup Qualifiers against Germany.

at the same time, he believes that the coaching staff now have to give rune jarstein confidence at the expense of Orjan Nyland. Once again had Nyland a bad involvement ended with goal.

– Compared to what will happen against Germany on Sunday, this is completely worthless exercise, said Nordlie VG at halftime.

When he and the rest of us who have chosen private match at Ullevaal this evening bored through 45 dismal minutes without a single Norwegian chance. Norway was in a deep 4-5-1 against one, with all due respect, medium opponent.

But worst of all: It would not be any better in the second half.

– embarrassing weak. So frankly, we need to be. We must up 10 notches if we shall he stand a chance against Germany, said Captain Stefan Johansen Max.

Guests with only chance before the break

the only note with Norwegian record as VG took initially came after 28 minutes. Joshua King entered into Veton Berisha who penetrated position ended pretty far outside of what might be characterized as a half chance.

Skeid coach Tom Nordlie, who was at the fight as NRK expert, says Nyland now no longer be coaching staff first.

– Now I mean rune jarstein should stand against Germany. He has more range, says an honest Nordlie, and adds that the succession of bad Nyland engagements national team starts getting long.

Norway let gradually into 4-4-2 with Sørloth and Martin Samuelsen at top. Samuelsen did show with a decent shot that the Belarusian goalkeeper had control of. While Alexander Sørloth abused a huge double chance quarters before the end.

First, rescued Andrei Harbunou header, he was also on the return which was a giant chance for the young Trønder. It was almost a major achievement not to shoot the ball into goal than to do it.

Høgmo: – Below par

Teams Head coaching staff was disappointed after the defeat:

– Here, there was little to write home about. It was a struggle under par, really throughout. We did not come up to the level we wanted, said Høgmo Max.

– What do you do in the days leading up to the Germany-struggle to get up “Spirit” team?

– We will analyze your performance and get people healthy. The match on Sunday will be a totally different game, responded Høgmo on TV channel issues.

- Other than Apple fears enough to be revealed – NRK

The European Union has concluded that Apple has received illegal state aid from Ireland, and must repay up to 120 billion to Ireland.

The reason is that Ireland on several occasions should have given electronics giant significant tax benefits. That’s according to EU rules illegal.

NHH professor Guttorm Schjelderup is an expert in tax planning in multinational companies.

He believes that other companies with similar agreements fear being revealed, and believes also Ireland should have been fined by the EU.

– Apple survives enough fine, but this is not trivial, says Schjelderup NRK.

– Other businesses or taxpayers must foot the bill

Apple has a market capitalization of just under 5,000 billion. In pre-trading on the New York Stock Exchange falls value of the company in excess of 1 percent just after 14:00 Norwegian time.

Photo: MICHAELA Rehla / Reuters

He believes that other companies that have the similar agreements now fear that they will be revealed.

When someone gets unfair competitive advantage, undermined tax systems. The bill needs some pay, whether there are other businesses or taxpayers, he said.

In a note from 2014 shows Schjelderup including how Google has set up its corporate structure with a holding company in Ireland with royalties via a company in the Netherlands which is then sent to Bermuda.

Bloomberg has previously written that Google from 2007-2009 paid in excess of 2 percent tax on their revenues outside the US due to clever corporate structures.

– Apple verdict raises new questions about who exactly are tax havens, when countries have hidden agreements and lead secret negotiations with international companies. No one knows, for example, how much companies must pay to the Netherlands to use them as throughput nation, says NHH professor.

Can have implications for more

The 130-page report that EU Commission has been working on for three years, will probably have implications for several other large companies that have negotiated artificial tax arrangements in the EU.

as recently as last year sent the same Commission maintains that the Netherlands should reclaim tax money equivalent to 30 million euros from coffee giant Starbucks, and Luxembourg a corresponding amount of car giant Fiat.

According to the BBC, the European Commission investigation has been met with criticism in the United States. The US Treasury will have criticized the EU to appoint to a supranational fiscal authority which interfered in individual country tax rules.

Historically high bot

Tax bill with interest equivalent to about 120 billion Norwegian kroner and is historically high.

Apple has in advance announced that it will appeal a penalty tax. The same also the Irish government made, although this will add Treasury multi billion euros.

An appeal hearing is expected to take up to two years.

Trumps impressive health report was written in five minutes – TV 2

– I tried to get the four or five sentences as quickly as possible, so they were happy. In the rush I think maybe some of the words were not as they were intended, admits Harold Bornstein at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York against NBC News.

At the same time he insisted that Trump (70), which can be America’s oldest president is in good health.

– his health is excellent, especially his mental health, he says, laughing and continues:

– he thinks he’s the best, and it works the good.

“astonishingly excellent”

in the health report draws Bornstein forward Trumps weight loss of seven kilograms last year, as well as test results he describes as “amazingly brilliant”.

Bornstein has been Trumps doctor in 35 years. Health report, which was written in December last year, is the only information about the presidential candidate’s health that is made public.

The report has gained new relevance in recent days after Trumps weapons girders have questioned Hillary Clinton’s health, to despite the fact that Clinton’s physician has written a two page report stating that Clinton did not have any serious problems.

written while the car waiting

Bornstein says in an interview with NBC News that he thought of what he should write about Trumps health condition throughout the day, but the note was not written until a black car stood outside the door to retrieve the letter. He took care not even have time to proofread the text.

The doctor says he usually does not use such colorful language to describe a patient’s health condition, but that he was colored by Trumps way to express himself and did their own interpretation of it.

Opposite NBC moderates he did anything but stand firm on that Trump is healthy.

– I do not think he is better or worse than the average person who trains every day. He does not smoke, he does not drink, and he has a good family history, says Bornstein.

Evenes mayor’s contribution to a more honest debate – Forward

Debate: In a recently published letter to the editor describing Evenes-mayor debate supporting “Keep Andøya AFB” with terms such as “ most debaters more concerned to submit false claims …. “” it has been a endless series of statements that virtually all is incorrect “and” …. desire to misinform many people as possible, most . ” I understand that the mayor here trying to take victimhood in this matter, but to assert that most debaters make inaccurate claims is in my view to go far out of line, direct rudely and a mayor unworthy. Is it really at this level mayor of Evenes want to lead the debate? Moreover, when the main point through known control techniques is to generalize and assert that the counterparty risks with untruths so should the mayor stick to the truth itself.

In the future, I would ask the mayor of Evenes to refute what he perceives as falsehoods by as it is made so that we can get a real factual discussion rather than to make such general accusations.

we are many in Andoy who are engaged in the case. Anything else would be unthinkable after reading the documentation that government on June 17 this year put forward as an argument for the closure of Andøya AFB. Our main concern is primarily to show how good our own airbase is, both qualitatively and geographically, but when assessments of important issues in the Government’s proposed alternative is incomplete and / or non-existent, we must be allowed to ask questions, and point out errors and omissions . We understand well that the pain and irritation that we ask timely questions, but also we are concerned with “the best of Northern Norway, Norway and NATO” that Kristiansen writes in conclusion of his speech.

The mayor seems being in a position where he can guarantee that the PwC report is not designed to underpin an already made its decision. In their eagerness to adopt buildup of Evenes he should restrain himself a bit, not least in respect of an entire society that is now threatened on the basis of a report that you either have to be member of government or resident in Evenes to defend. Andøy has already pointed out a number of conditions which reveal missing, if not totally absent quality assurance report. The decision basis as that report is supposed to be is simply everything bad that Parliament be able to make an important decision. I would argue that the government, based on the past week disclosures should modify its proposal at this point in LTPen. As mayor of Andøy already have looked at – if not FD / PwC fail to bring out simple number of accounting and render them correctly in the report, but actually manages to miss by 90%, what should anyone expect about the more complicated calculations and assessments made in connection with the preparation of the report?

the Norwegian government and the Norwegian defense has long history as regards adding expensive elements after that important irreversible decision has been made and thereby blow all budgets. We want to ensure that this does not happen in this process, by requiring that it be thorough, quality-assured processing in which all parties are heard, where we have presented calculations and get complementary and full answers to our questions.

PwC’s mayor Kristiansen writes an international and prestigious group. This report could FD nice to have written himself, but it is important to present the conclusions have come from a hired consultant company. Note 2 in PwC’s report refer to the “Ministry of Defence (2015). Input to the socio-economic analysis. “. This is a note we do not get access to and which gave PwC framework for the report they were commissioned to work. I would assume that many of the arcane conclusions and figures have their origins in this guideline document. It would be nice if the Ministry of Defence had released that document and any other normative information given in the process so that we might absolve PwC, or at least can understand why PwC concludes way they do.

If the mayor Evenes is not willing to take in you that Evenes has bad approach conditions, he must at least stop claiming that “the truth is quite the contrary.” In my world can not “contrary” of “bad approach matters” mean but that he believes that Evenes has good approach conditions, and it is in my view simply nonsensical, and tends to lie. – And in an opinion piece in which his main concern is the frustration of misconduct and that “counterparty” risks with falsehoods and lies. We have summer ia read in the press that “ Americans to have taken the approach conditions at Evenes that bad, and that they believe the airport is unsuitable for testing of its Global Hawk and Triton drones “, and that, I think says it all. The Americans wanted to Andoy.

I would also remind you that flight condition has as much to do with topography that wind alone. The topography at Andøya can be explained with one word: Flatt. Evenes is everything else, and it affects the aeronautical conditions.

I note that Mayor Kristiansen in his speech uses relatively much space to explain that satellite-based approach system will make the base better equipped and that the well is “reason to believe that the new aircraft will use new technology. ” This is all a long way to acknowledge that approach the conditions are not good, while he sows uncertainty about whether the new aircraft will actually use these technologies.

When the mayor saw sarcastic quotes around the word “experts” who have commented on the weather at Evenes I guess it’s Edmar Schaug-Pettersen post he is referring. Schaug-Pettersen’s statement is undoubtedly an expert opinion in this regard and then Evenes mayor only show so much he wants to “statistics from Avinor, trivia and meteorological reports.” Schaug-Pettersen has 35 years experience as flymeterolog in defense and has worked on all military air bases in Norway, including several times at Evenes.

When Schaug-Pettersen writes that “ Evenes was and is a nightmare respect runway direction subject to strong side wind, often in combination with slippery runway (water ice). Steep approach trace from north of turbulence and lots of water / moisture sources in the area had often sudden bad landing conditions. On the same day with relatively poor weather could aircraft operations discontinued from Andoy, Bodo and Bardufoss but Evenes did not “one aircraft in the air” by weather conditions “so it’s an important statement that the mayor in Evenes can take note and desist from to trivialize and ridicule. Schaug-Pettersen points out a very important factor that should be one of the main criteria when deciding where defense only military airbase in northern Norway will be located. Government writes in LTPen that fighters are sensitive to wind, and the facts are unfortunately so when the military aircraft have on the wings so they need it – and it applies to both MPA (we know after 50 years of operation with Orion on Andøya) and F- 35. They can not sit at Evenes to wait for better weather.

Since the mayor is so tired of questions about space at Evenes then he must also help to produce a plan that disproves what we have so incredibly difficult for thinking – namely that there is space for everything a collocated military enebasebase in northern Norway should be able to cover. I would challenge Kristiansen to contribute to ease some of the pressure by providing a credible plan within MoD’s budgetary framework for enebase at Evenes shows that Evenes, with its many natural space constraints (water, topography and nature reserves), is able to accommodate all the activity that enters at the base in daily operations, during exercise and by mobilization. There must be allowed for us to ask for an areally and accompanying economic statement before Parliament should make an irreversible decision.

Evenes has space limitations and should the proposed solution in the daily house MPA base, forward QRA, future drone squadron and its hangars as well as a growing civil aviation. In addition, as known Americans mooted that they might be interested in a permanent US forward base for reconnaissance, probably with their squadron building / hangar etc. During an exercise or mobilization shall base in addition eg accommodate support for own jagerskvadronene, allies jagerskvadroner with associated support (transport, tanker, crew etc), Allied MPA support, dedicated protruded helikopterskvadroner with support, Allied helikopterskvadroner with support, Allied droneskvadroner with associated equipment, and daily traffic of fighters, helicopters and other units from Allied aircraft carrier out to sea off the Norwegian coast. All this comes in addition to transport and aircraft for transporting personnel and equipment transport dc airlift to Evenes as central reception center during exercise and mobilization.

Mayor Kristiansen applauds at the end of his speech Deputy Minister Øystein Bo’s statement about changes in our security policy setting that underscores the importance of protection of bases of long-range air defense. Long-range air defense there carrying operational argument in enebaseforslaget whether there would be enebase Andøya or at Evenes. It has from many quarters been commented that the long-range air defense is a pie in the sky when Norway has neither a system or under investigation procurement of such systems as from what I understand to be extremely costly. No, nor secretary Bo has so far said this against.

So think therefore the Ministry of Defence, State Secretary Bo and the mayor in Evenes that Parliament should vote for a enebaseløsning at Evenes, which is based on protection of a long-range antiaircraft Parliament has not been presented with, do not know the price of and do not know when any will be in place. On top of it all, the Defense Ministry in its guidelines to PwC determined that predicted frame costs for this system should not be included in the cost setup enebaseløsning Evenes and enebaseløsning Andoy – of course that politicians do not understand what costs we are talking about. In turn, used any decision about enebaseløsningen to argue that the Norwegian Defence must invest in long-range air defense.

At the end I would encourage Mayor Kristiansen to take a closer look at the arguments for shared base. Today Evenes a resolution QRA-base, and Andøy supports it through to propose a shared solution despite the fact that financial disclosures show that enebaseløsning Andoy also backs economically is an equally good proposal that enebaseløsning Evenes. When Christmas comes to Evenes be in the situation that they have neither QRA or MPA.

- The overall impression is clearly “bearish” – Dagens Næringsliv

Oljepris

Rekordstore oljelagre tynger oljeprisen.

Mister eight nursing homes – Bladet Vesterålen (press release)

Now Myre Heimen 31 seats in total, spread over 26 long term pitches, four short-term seats and one urgent care of beds. Following the reorganization, Myre mountains have 18 long-term places (down eight places) and six short-term residents / relief capacity (up two places) and one of beds instant help.

– The last, urgent care, doctors are predisposing. They should be able to put some in for emergency care around the clock, so that we have in essence little to do, says unit manager at Myre mountains, Unni Sørdahl.

By Alsvåg mountains there are 21 seats in total and after the reorganization will be 19.

This means that 19 long-term places, so it is today, the only thing left at Alsvåg mountains. They lose two relief slots / temp place this September.

As a replacement for the eight lost nursing home places, there will be eight heldøgnsbemmannede care homes in the new pavilion under construction and nearing completion.

now there are a total of 52 seats in the institution in Øksnes, by mid-September there will be 44 seats in institutions and eight places in homes with live-in care. That it is staffing at the pavilion throughout the day.

Mister positions

But Myre Heimen lose over two positions and Alsvåg Heimen lose 1.7 positions, which are now being transferred to home care.

that is eight rooms at Myre mountains turned into something different than they have been until now. They should no longer be used for long-term places. Some rooms are relief slots and short-term residents, but the threshold for getting long-term place in Øksnes, raised considerably.

– We have had a relatively high number of long-term places and is now down by eight long slots. What we see now is that we are likely going to get a lot of pressure on short-term residents. We have four such places now and get two to the end of September, says Unni Sørdahl at Myre mountains.

There are four of the residents at Myre mountains who have agreed to move into the new sheltered housing with of beds staffing.

– these four I have good faith will fare well in these residences, but we have several that we have spoken with, as we have concluded have an excessive need for assistance to be moved in sheltered accommodation. When we said no, saying Sørdahl.

What worries her now, is that the pressure on places at Myre mountains is unlikely to go down, while having two positions in shortage.

– We will not see the effects of this until at a time. Maybe it goes well, maybe we will see that we will have to increase their workforce again, she said.

She thinks it’s good that they get two short pitches, but is not happy that Alsvåg being without such.

– None of the residents forced to move and all addressed in relation to the need they have fast remedial action. I’m excited, but I think it will go well, says Sørdahl.

Housing delayed

Kommunalsjef for health, Elise Gustavsen, has set September 1 as the takeover date for oomsorgsboligene but it will not hold. Einar Knudsen at Myre timber says to Bladet Vesterålen that they estimate that they will need three weeks from now, before they’re done. It probably means the acquisition around mid-September.

– It is very much the electrical, heating, ventilation and lock systems to be in place and it always takes more time than we think. There are a few things to be rigged up and we are dependent on the other handtverkerne finishes his work before we can do the finishing touch, says Knudsen Bladet Vesterålen.

There are Oddleiv Small having construction management of the project and he says that there are now nine carpenters from Myre timber which is in turn in addition to a number of electricians, automation workers and plumbers.

– it appears that there is very much that remains, but it is in essence fast when we first allowed to start putting in place everything. Outside, we mostly quite finished, but inside there are some things that remain, he said.

Miss political support Per Ole Larsen Øksnes Centre Party has on several occasions etterpsurt a thorough investigation on this matter. He misses yet such a study and a political grounding of the case.

Two times it made the decision in the council where the chief administrative officer is asked to investigate a separate matter concerning reversal of nursing homes to place in care homes, including needs and økonimi .

Rådmannen showed last council that such anchoring is in the economic plan for 2016-2019 and case 24/15. In this case states that the council asks Councillor investigate their case.

See also the case 46/16, which states that the council asks Councillor submit a separate issue to the next council meeting that illustrate precisely this matter.

for the last council was submitted a note from the municipal manager, but no issue assessment.

in this note states that: When we from 1 september 2016 adopts the newly built residential houses with of beds staffing, we also take down eight long slots. We also prepares 2nd construction stage, where eight new residential homes built in conjunction with the eight that immediately stands ready, startup 2018. Based on population projections and needs assessment, we believe this is sufficient dimensioning of long-term places and sheltered housing with of beds follow.

But then it says:

– If we find that the need for long-term spaces increases compared to what we’ve done ACCESSIBILITY, we can adopt some of the rooms as of September 1 no longer in use at Alsvåg mountains or Myre mountains.

Since the mayor is so tired of questions about space at Evenes then he must also help to produce a plan that disproves what we have so incredibly hard to believe – namely that there is space for everything a collocated military enebasebase in northern Norway should be able to cover.

During an exercise or mobiliserin g shall base additionally including accommodate support for own jagerskvadronene, allies jagerskvadroner with associated support (transport, tanker, crew etc), Allied MPA support, dedicated protruded helikopterskvadroner with support, Allied helikopterskvadroner with support, Allied droneskvadroner with associated equipment, and daily traffic of fighters, helicopters and other units from Allied aircraft carrier out to sea off the Norwegian coast. All this comes in addition to transport and aircraft for transporting personnel and equipment transport dc airlift to Evenes as central reception center during exercise and mobilization.

Mayor Kristiansen applauds at the end of his speech Deputy Minister Oystein Bo’s statement about changes in our security environment which underscores the importance of protection of bases of long-range air defense.

At the end will I urge Mayor Kristiansen to take a closer look at the arguments shared base.

What agenda is Agenda? – Bergens Tidende – Bergens Tidende

Nothing suggests that girls with hijab not integrate well into Norwegian society.

think tank Agenda has launched an “policy note” of integration. It is important to have ambitions for integration work in Norway, even though we know that it has already done a good job compared to EU countries.

We will not deny that some of the proposals in Agenda note is constructive, although the vast majority are self-evident or already proposed by others. Examples include the settlement of refugees and the fight against extremism.

We want to point out that the specific examples of the note deals with Muslims, and especially Muslim women and / or children. It helps to reinforce the claim that we are already a segregated society. This paper is part of a increasingly common rhetoric, where mention of “the others” are normalized. It is said a lot nice about individual rights, shared values and diversity in the policy note. Such as “Emphasis on similarities should prevail” and “respect for difference and diversity can give students confidence in the face of the diverse society Norway is.”

When one is a little over halfway through the note comes rhetorical seized as “masking” and “so-called niqab.” It is taken advocated that niqab in schools should be prohibited because of identification, just as if the teacher does not know who the student in niqab is. More expensive with nytt thanks to the swimming pool – Hamar Dagblad

It appears in the dossier to harvest the first council meeting in Tynset.

It was in mid-June that the swimming pool was determined closed until the roof was replaced, with suggested reopen for Christmas 2016. So we had the swimming group in Tynset cancel all their swimming training sessions this fall. First in the New Year will again be offered swim workouts.

The cost of repairing the roof was initially estimated at 1.4 million excluding VAT. In a memo from the end of July is the estimate increased by NOK 300,000 to 1.7 million, excluding VAT. This means a total of 2.13 million including VAT.

The work of obtaining bids on repairing the roof is already started and the work shall be carried as quickly as possible.

– There is a hope the pool can be used at Christmas, said the cases presented to the municipal board meeting.

Damage and decay

in a report from 2011, it was noted major leaks in the transition between ceiling and wall around windows and penetrations columns ceiling. The vapor barrier is defective and the outer walls is probably not a vapor barrier.

– Wooden structures in the roof is characterized by air leakage from the swimming pool have expired in construction, it is pointed out in the report, which concludes that damage and rot under development.

As a result of this arises the danger that construction could fall down.

– Air leaks must be seen in connection with the pool temperature is increased from 22 degrees to 33 degrees through the basin 50 -Year life, the report said. Tynset points out that the basis of this status report as they regularly assessed the condition of the pool roof.

– Spring 2016 was the state so that a basis of a safety evaluation found it appropriate to make carry out a new assessment of the roof pointed the. The assessment of Norconsult AS granted on the 10th June this year. Where it was concluded that ceiling, with the exception of prefabricated columns and beams of concrete, should be replaced as soon as possible.

Billigst to renovate

In case evaluation of politicians it is recalled that the current swimming pool in Tynset is about 50 years old and it has only been a matter of time before the system had to be renovated. Shortcomings apply the structural, treatment plant and the technical facilities.

In a report that the council dealt with in 2012, it emerged that the cost of retrofitting of current pool versus building a new heating pool (12.5 meters) would be approximately the same.

– If one chooses to build a new heating pool requires that existing pool demolished and turned into another local, said the legal assessment, pointing out that the existing pool is an integral part of the physical education building and this therefore will incur substantial additional costs.

therefore, it is concluded that renovations are far less expensive than construction of a new 12.5-meter pool.

– A changing of only roofs and the remaining renovation taken later is neither prevents or complicates later renovation of the pool or a possible construction of a new 25-meter pool, according to the legal assessment.

it is proposed that the repairs be financed using retained earnings, which balance at year end was on just under NOK 23 million.

Solheim concessions – Utrop.no

It is almost a year since the book “To End A Civil War: Norway’s Peace Engagement with Sri Lanka” by Mark Salter was published. Get Norwegian media has discussed or reviewed the book, which mainly presents how Erik Solheim and his aides tried to facilitate peace on the island of Sri Lanka.

The Tamils, which accounted for around 25 percent of the population in the country, gave its support the Liberation Tigers (LTTE) and armed struggle because they were discriminated against and oppressed by the majority in the country, who are Sinhalese. Sri Lankan Civil War has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives through about 25 years. The Norwegian peace effort began not with Erik Solheim. Arne Fjørtoft, aid worker and former head of parity Left, acted as door-openers to the LTTE already in the 90s, and then have the then State Secretary Jan Egeland, Secretary Knut Vollebaek and Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik involved, it emerges in the book.

Answer the festering question
book goes chronologically through the events from around the 90s and until the war ended in May 2009 and after the games afterwards. The book is clearly a historical document that describes, clarifies and provides a wide and reliable picture of what happened. I was editor at Call Works has followed developments in Sri Lanka, and often have important information pending as allegations, rumors or unconfirmed reports. Several of these we get the answer in the book.

Used government troops phosphorus (biological weapons) against the LTTE, which also civilians were hit? Yes, indicate the sources of the author. Bombed government makeshift hospital on purpose? Yes, it is confirmed in the book. Forcibly recruited LTTE young boys and girls to fight in the final stage? Yes, according to sources interviewed. Did LTTE accept money from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa during his campaign before he became president? Yes, according to sources.

One of the biggest revelations set of Tamil eyes about Selva Rasa Pathmanathan, known as KP. Solheim confirms that Norwegian facilitators met him without the LTTE leader Veluppillai Pirabakaran knew about it. The aim was to put pressure on Pirabakaran through KP to get LTTE leader to lay down weapons. At this time played KP a key role as a weapons smuggler and supplier and was in the top leadership of the LTTE. How Norwegians managed to establish contact with KP, says Solheim little about, and little about why they thought KP could convince Pirapakaran. That contact existed between KP and Norwegians without LTTE leader knew about the new information. Today KP a free man and runs an orphanage north of Sri Lanka. He is one of the few men from the top leadership of the LTTE who are alive.

Several factors towards peace process

the book of Mark Salter is an important historical document, writes majoran vivekananthan.

Photo: Illustration

the most interesting part of the book is about how to peace process that cut herself. On the LTTE side and the government side were the divisions. LTTE commander for the eastern prov ice Batticloa, Muralitharan Muttiah, known as “Karuna”, broke with the LTTE and the government side was the controversy between the President and the Prime Minister become so bitter that the president at a critical time declared martial law and took over the prime minister’s department and tasks. Later elections were held, and the new government and a new president was peace process gradually sink.

Oslo Declaration
In the book there is no doubt that the new government and the new president was unwilling to enter into peace negotiations with the LTTE. LTTE was at this point militarily weak because they had lost a lot of control in the east, and had few choices. There were signs up to the government, which had strengthened significantly throughout the period of peace including with heavy military armament with help from China, in addition to infiltrate LTTE. The government wanted a military solution because the chance of winning militarily was great.

But before that, when there were good times of peace, the events surrounding the so-called Oslo Declaration which I believe plays an important role. This was a time when there was a military balance between the parties, and both parties were genuinely interested in finding a solution. And this is where a lot goes wrong, as I interpret the text.

The most important part of the Statement is this: “The parties have agreed to explore a solution based on principles of internal self-determination in the historic areas to Tamils based on a federal structure within a unified Sri Lanka. “

Quote from Solheim:” the government pushed and pushed to get the LTTE to commit themselves for a final solution. I met Milinda at a fish restaurant, and the fish soup he wrote a draft that would help drive the peace process forward forward. “

Balasingham (LTTE chief negotiator) should not have been present, but should have accepted utka seal having made two changes. Solheim says Balasingam not discussed with the LTTE leader, but must have assumed that Balasingam would get the manager on going on a federal solution. “Outside of the influence it had with LTTE leader, was declaration a great success, “said Solheim in the book.

This is where Solheim and his helpers make big mistakes. Solheim has dubbed namely note as “declaration”. The Government is extremely pleased to tell the Sri Lankan majority that the LTTE has waived requirement of a separate state. Meanwhile, the Tamil elite wary, for it to renounce sovereignty could be political suicide, the history has shown. Another thing is that whatever solution the authorities went requires a 2/3 majority in parliament, and any referendum. Aspects around there is very little focus on the book. “To get a 2/3 majority by a single party was almost impossible,” wrote journalist Taraki about the situation at the time. But Sinhala majority considered Tamils it unlikely that MPs would vote for greater self-determination that could satisfy Tamils. The peace process was seen as pro forma, and that a pause in which the government could rearm and strengthen its position, then breaking the LTTE from all sides. Tamils turned to the EU ban on the LTTE as an example, the EU ban was the result of strong lobbying from the government center under the peace process.

Norwegians error
Solheim admits a number of errors. Among other things, that the president was not good enough included in the peace process. But there are many weaknesses in the Norwegian peace mediation Solheim not admit. Oslo Declaration is one of them. One important “solution” to the conflict should be entrenched, well discussed and been brought out to the people with methods and tools that are effective and useful to convince the people and lessen resistance. Oslo Declaration was not adequately grounded with the LTTE, it emerges in the book. And it was thrown out to the people without adequate preparation, so it was misused by extremists on both sides.

LTTE was willing to investigate solutions within a unified Sri Lanka, according Balasingam, but where the line should go, should they discussed properly in advance, not at a restaurant with one of the parties supervising onsite. But it is not necessarily the managers’ fault. The LTTE was also unclear on what they could accept within a unified Sri Lanka at that time. It was only with the proposal for Interim Self Governing Authority Governing Authority (ISGA document) this is clarified, one year after the Oslo Declaration. And when was the political landscape changed so much and the choice was just around gjørnet so that the peace process stagnated.

The first lesson peace negotiators should take is that peace negotiations should not take too long . The political landscape is constantly changing and it is important to exploit the opportunities that present themselves once it is willingness to negotiate. In the whole went Solheim solution involves giving the Tamils autonomy, but the question was how much the government was willing to give and how much the LTTE was willing to accept. For me it is strange that Solheim did not discuss the various solutions behind the scenes ahead. Because that was not to come up with a new solution, but to get the parties to accept the reality. The question is whether Norway should have been a peacemaker and not just peace facilitator.

One thing that Solheim says he received instruction is to bring the people responsible to participate in negotiations. Always leader. Had LTTE leader himself and the president has been connected before the Oslo Declaration, had the people responsible even been brought to justice.

Source
the book is unique in its kind, the author has interviewed a variety of sources both in Norway, Sri Lanka and in the Diaspora. He has used newspaper articles, reports, books, reports as a basis, as well as personal interviews with the main players, the exception is people in LTTE management who are dead. Although the source material is enormous, it Solheim own contact network that is basically. This, in addition to the number of sources that include Tamil are few, creates a distorted source basis. And in several places there Solheim own interpretation of what the LTTE stood for as a basis, and not what they actually meant and stood for. There is a major weakness of the book.

Bright future
The question is whether Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe as now become prime minister again, have learned their lesson. For now, Sri Lanka has a president who plays along with Wickremesinghe and there are bright times are ahead, we believe the commentators Sri Lanka. According to some Tamil media have the leader of the largest political party for Tamils Tamil National Alliance (TNA) entered into a more or less formal agreement with Wickremesinghe ahead of elections for a solution for the Tamils.

If we look at developments in the country and the strategic moves to Wickremesinghe, it appears that he slowly but surely pave the way to bring about a constitutional amendment that will ensure the Tamils greater autonomy than they have today. Authorities crackdown down on extremism from both sides, and reactionary, non-democratic elements are removed or been deprived of power and influence. And if Wickremesinghe get a constitutional amendment that gives more autonomy to Tamils before his term is over, remains to be seen. About the changes lead to lasting peace in Sri Lanka, also remains to be seen. Time passes, already seven years have passed since the war ended.

KrF – audience and choices in a new era – Day

The note is sent to more than 80 representatives in the Democratic Party; party leader and party leadership, the Central, the Storting, county leaders and county offices, mayors, head of KrFU and KrFK.

The author’s wish is that the note will contribute to a constructive input into the debate on the new party program 2017-2021, and about important crossroads towards next year’s elections.

– by Arnfinn Clemetsen, pastor and author, with the municipal council for the Christian Democratic Party, Sola.

Overview:
Introduction
1. Identity and standpoint
2. History and the way forward in a new era
3. Christian and political center
4. New party program and important choices

INTRODUCTION
The Christian Democratic Party is in an important phase. In recent years the party has been in a process of renovation and modernization which in many ways has been necessary and positive, but that also have created tensions and revealed disagreements and sometimes conflicts both on where the party stands or should stand in some ethical questions, and about the way forward.

the starting point of this paper is to contribute to the debate and thinking about KrF role in Norwegian politics today, and a desire to look into the Christian Democratic Party and its relationship to what we might call ” Christian Norway “where the majority of voters probably are. This significant group of people in our society also represents a growth potential for the party while it’s here a lot of failure in support for the party in recent years lies. Putting theme KrF and “Christian-Norway” on the agenda is thus highly relevant.

I wish in this paper to provide some considerations in relation to the processes party has been experiencing in recent years, and come with some thoughts on the new party program to be drawn up to congress in 2017 and possible policy options for the parliamentary elections in 2017.

such a note obviously can not in any way pretend to provide a comprehensive analysis of these conditions, and it is based not on statistical material. Although I would like to highlight the situation and developments in the Democratic Party as objectively as possible, of course, my personal assessments and observations be clearly stated. There is also opinion.

I have emphasized Christian Democratic values, perspective and location in relation to the Christian landscape, and in relation to the political landscape.

KrF, so far as I can see, in an important and crucial phase with regard to the future of the party and the party’s mission in our country. KrF has played an important role in Norwegian politics and society. Meanwhile, not last year’s attempt to renew and width out party given gain, although the political influence is considerable, both in parliament and in county and municipal councils.

My hope is that this report can help inspiration in the work to strengthen the Democratic Party for the good of our country.

1. IDENTITY AND PErsPECTIVE

Of course you want a party like the Christian Democrats to embrace the broadest possible that a people’s party with a Christian values at the bottom. Basically everybody is welcome to vote Democratic Party, and “voting machine” before the last election have indicated that a larger portion of the population wants “KrF policies” than those who actually vote for the party.

I think it is important to define what is the Christian Democratic Party’s main target group.
One can in the eagerness to capture wide, sometimes losing both the main target group and the larger banks. “If you are chasing two rabbits at the same time, you will not catch any of them” (quote: John C. Maxwell).

I believe that the Christian Democratic Party history, values and mission in political life in Norway, clearly shows that “Christian-Norway” or “Christian church” in its breadth and in its diversity is the party’s main target group. The party’s select group also has been within this definition.

At the same time the party will not be a “niche party” or “cult party” but a party with a coherent policy that obtains votes and support from broad choice masses. Clearly Truth in history, foundation, values and mission, will create the confidence both within the party and outside of the electorate that makes you embrace much broader than what I call the main target group. The point is that without a defined core and target group can lose a lot more than you win. I thus see no contradiction between “Christian” and “popular”, but rather a muliget!

Christian Democratic Party and “Christian-Norway”
It is quite natural that Christian Democratic Party has a special and close relationship with the Christian church and Christian organizations and environments. This has been true from the party’s inception. It can be compared with the Labour Party has a special relationship with the labor movement, the Centre has traditionally had the same to farmers and agricultural organizations, and Right to businesses and their organizations.
Today this is not nearly as “segmented” as before, and various select groups loyalty to parties is not so clear and strong today as it was some decades ago.
It is in many ways positive. Yet I would argue that this is still relevant for a party KrF considering the voter base located in Christian churches and organizations, and the many similarities that exist in shared values. I would argue that KrF depends on preserving and increasing the number of voters in this large constituency.

Church and politics
It should be clear demarcation between church and politics . The difference between the nave and the Parliament Hall, and at the chapel and the town hall. Church and politics do not mix, but for a “Christian Foilkeparti” is of course in the nature of a wish as much as possible of Christian values and practical Christianity into politics. It is the reason for the party’s existence.

We find people with the Christian faith in the whole spectrum from right to left on the political axis. Nevertheless, KrF is totally dependent on nursing his close relationship with Christian leaders, churches and organizations. It is in these environments Party bedrock exist, and here’s the party’s voter base and probably also growth potential.

It is within and through the Christian communities that KrF has the greatest opportunity to influence the social responsibility and political commitment, verve managers and list candidates, and bring voters. Here there is an interdependence. The strong focus on valuables and degree of clarity in this makes many active Christians will gather in KrF, although one would otherwise belong to different political wings. This is of course positive, but also a political challenge for the party.

Christian and popular
At the general election in 1997 was KrF as high as 13.7% of the vote, but at the last election the party has unfortunately had to see the 5th century. I shall not give any in-depth analysis of this, but in my estimation was party nineties on one side more value conservatively than today, yet popular and “edible” in broad environments. The slogan “You do not have to be a Christian to vote Democratic Party”, was both true and good. This duality, “Christian and popular”, located in the party’s name, represents no contradiction, but rather a positive voltage that should and can be utilized for the growth and development of the party. We also know that since the nineties has been a major development both in society and in politics, which has increased the challenges at many levels for a Christian value portion.
Nevertheless, I believe that there is a significant choice group outside the Christian church who would like to vote for a Christian value party, if it is “different” and a clear option in central ethical questions in relation to other parties.

Development and processes
In recent years, ie Christian Democrats been through processes with strategy selection (2010) manifesto (2014), and change of leadership. After Dagfinn Høybråten as a leader in the period 2004-2011 came Knut Arild Hareide as a new leader in spring 2011. In my opinion Dagfinn Høybråten received too little credit for the great efforts he made in a somewhat challenging time for the party. He stood for a security in relation to the party’s more conservative voters while he opened the door for innovation. Large parts of the media stamped Høybråten unfairly as a “dark man” and part impatient younger forces within the party believed enough that his leadership style and political standpoint not helped to renew the party to the extent that was desirable. I will not spend time speculating about the tensions that were in the party when Høybråten wanted replaced as party leader, but only conclude that Knut Arild Hareide came on as a unifying alternative. He has in my opinion done a good job. There is no doubt that his commitment is huge, his style and voice is refreshing, and he has great support in the party. He has managed the art of balancing between the more conservative and liberal groups within the party. Hareide’s participation in television debates and media have been more than approved, and he has also won the confidence of the broad political environment.

Greater confidence in party leader
As far as I understands it Hareide also won the confidence in the banks of Christian churches and organizations. This confidence was put to the test by Hareide’s participation in the gay parade “Pride” in June 2016. In particular, within the more conservative Lutheran organizations and Free Churches public has this created questions and uncertainty. It has also been made within the party.

I consider that Hareide’s participation in “Pride” was motivated by support for the victims of terror against the nightclub “Pulse” in Orlando that took 50 life, perhaps had created smaller conflicts if not statements from people within the program committee and the party leadership in recent months has led to some uncertainty around the party’s standpoint on marriage. Nonetheless, that participation in “Pride” made waves in both the party and the “Christian-Norway” is not surprising and may have helped to bring forth a necessary if painful debate in the party.

Whatever it takes more to than excitement around a new party leader to lift the party to old heights. The question is what is needed, and it keeps naturally not simple and easy answers.

Confession or obligation
Within the party is there is still some debate about the “confession clause” as the party left by congress in 2013. in its place came a commitment on the Christian values. Personally I supported this amendment, although I had wanted an even clearer commitment. Confession in church and commitment in politics, my assessment. Regardless, any representative and listekandidat in Krf stand for a Christian view of humanity and basic values derived from the Bible. In my opinion this is a prerequisite for the voters to be confident in the party’s standpoint and integrity. Here is perhaps a degree of uncertainty that should be cut off in relation to Christian leaders and churches, and potential voters both inside and outside the Christian church. It’s about credibility in relation to the base value.

Today we must realize that the change of confession of obligation not hoarded party support, but instead has created a lot of uncertainty. The forces in the party who wished KrF with this would be more “palatable” to new groups of voters outside the Christian camp, took in my opinion wrong. There is just clarity and strength of values and attitudes, both in the party program and with the people who represent the party, which makes people apply for KrF, also people outside the active Christian church. Strategy process and the modernization of the party has not given the desired results, although much of that in my opinion have been appropriate and necessary.

Christian community involvement
There is great need for Christian community engagement in our country. Here should KrF and “Christian-Norway” stand together and teaming. A strong Christian Democratic Party must in my opinion be in both churches and Christian organizations’ absolute interest, even though the church should not be partisan. There is no doubt that in many areas they have Christian values lost ground in our country, not least in the last ten to twenty years. It should encourage joint positive efforts.
Both the great need for Christian community involvement and the challenges Christian Democratic Party’s party, are important reasons to work with the party’s relationship with Christian churches and organizations on the broadest possible basis.
If successful it could help increase voter and recruitment of value-conscious leaders and politicians in the party.

2. HISTORY AND THE WAY FORWARD ON A NEW TIME

Is there any similarity between the time KrF grew and today? The answer is an absolute yes although enormously much has changed in society on the well eighty years since its inception. As well political as religious image is partially changed dramatically in our country.

The Christian Democratic Party was founded to defend spiritual, moral and cultural values in society. From the beginning our vision was strong to be a light and a salt both in political life and in the country. In other words, it was a strong stated desire among the party’s founders to seek influence from a Christian worldview. They would be salt and light in society. We read that the founders of the party bent his knees and prayed to God for the land and people. It must be said, though both “Christian-Norway” and society was quite different then than it is today, that the party’s founders were mostly what we positively can call healthy, Bible-believing, conservative Christians.

On the Christian Democratic Party website we read: “Material values ascribed particular attention of the political parties vied for power in the 1920s. Cultural and spiritual values thus came secondary. This worried many, and the idea of a separate Christian Democratic Party grew so forth. First, the party established in Hordaland county in 1933, and in 1938 became the party’s first National Board elected and the party soon became nationwide. “No doubt that the new party covered a need in the policy Norway.

lexicon “Caplex” writes: “
Christian Democratic Party see it as a mainly to protect Christian and moral values ” . Here shared the fledgling Democratic Party supremely mission and goals with the breadth of Christianity at that time was much more united than at present in ethical issues. There is little doubt that the majority of the electorate to KrF mostly came from the active part of The Norwegian Church with its various organizations and the layman’s, and from the many free church community with its various revival traditions.

“unwritten alliance”
There is reason to believe that in practice it was an “unwritten agreement” between movements like the Inner Mission and Norwegian Lutheran Mission, and the various free church communities on the one hand, and the Christian Democratic party as a political party on the other side. This unofficial alliance efforts to promote biblical and Christian values in society focusing on human and the nation’s best.

The Christian Democratic Party was and is an exciting project, and the first pioneers were brave men and women. Today we can state that much has been achieved over the years for the good of our country. Women and men have stood up for Christian values and a coherent policy, both locally and nationally, and the Party has won great respect in political circles and in society. KrF has served in several governments, and had Lars Korvald and Kjell Magne Bondevik as talented prime ministers, and by the way the party has done a good job both in opposition and position locally and nationally.

KrF for unappreciated
Yet there is reason to believe that much of what the party has achieved in its eighty year history in fact is too little known and too little appreciated in today’s Christian churches and organizations, especially for the younger generations. The same applies perhaps even more to the work carried today by party officials, not least in Parliament. It is a constant challenge for the party to reach the “Christian-Norway”, churches and organizations with the work carried out and the objectives achieved. The annual meetings of the party leadership and parliamentary group has invited leaders from churches and Christian organizations to dialogue, covers some of this need, and have, as I see it, very important.

history and vision
As I see it, there are a lot of interesting and important to bring in party history. It is always inspiration and power in the original vision. Historieløshet leads to rootlessness and identity crisis. When one does not know who you are and even less where to. Therefore it is important again and again to ask themselves the fundamental questions.
Here are some of them:
Why was the party founded? What was the original vision? What would the founders of the party? What was the purpose of the party? Why do we have a Democratic Party in today’s society? What is KrF special task in the political Norway today? Why should people vote for KrF today? What distinguishes KrF basics from the other parties? How will a society built on the Christian Democrat ideology look like? What can “Christian-Norway” expect the Democratic Party? What can KrF expect of “Christian-Norway”?

The new generations and a new time
new generations “standing on the shoulders” of those who have gone before and will take the party and politics ahead into a new era where many things are different. The policy must be developed and adapted to the world that is now, and be realistic and relevant, and communicate with people of today. This must succeed without departing from the basic elements of the original vision. In my opinion should KrF clarify and promote his vision, not least the “Christian-Norway”. It can create renewed life in the “unwritten agreement and alliance” to build Christian values into society.

“History and experience is a bad master but a good servant” (quote: Brian Houston). The story must be there as a stable factor that helps to navigate right in the current situation. There are principles of a Christian value party is based and which can never be waived. Nevertheless, the story must not act as a constraint or a hindrance for renewal and change, but it should be be a minister of the purpose and the strategies that are relevant in a new era.

the Christian Democratic Party has been important in recent years to undergo an evaluation of their identity and role in Norwegian politics. This work is not finished. It is also important that the process gets going in a proper pace and without creating too much uncertainty in key ethical questions. The party must return to the offensive at a time when both the political and religious picture has changed sharply in Norway. Hopefully KrF strengthened and invigorated out of this and win back lost ground, not least in relation to “Christian-Norway”.

A “different” party
In a party flora which in my opinion are too many parties, I would argue that there is still a need for a clear, value-based people’s party with a coherent policy – a Christian Democratic party. Party name says a lot about the party’s character. KrF is based on Christian values, and it should also be a wide People’s Party.

KrF must dare to think differently and try new opportunities without compromising the core values the party is based. It is namely the qualifying party for a place in the political Norway, and it is what makes the Christian churches and church leaders will feel safe in the party as an important alliance to build the country and win back lost ground relative to a Christian values. I understand very well what the Christian Democratic Party leader Knut Arild Hareide, meant when he at the Congress in 2013 said in his speech that the Democratic Party is a “normal party”. Obviously KrF not a church or a Christian organization, but a political party. It is also important that the Democratic Party is not a “normal party” but a “different party” than all the others, in values and in the development of policy! If not, many of the party’s voters or potential voters conclude that just as well or rather vote for another party.

Renewal and revitalization
The basic values from the party’s beginnings are still present in the political program and political thinking. The “Christian Democratic values,” human dignity, compassion and stewardship, is highly topical and influence in most policy areas. All politics is about people!
How these values will be disseminated and adapted to today’s society there are different views. Therefore need KrF renewal, both visionary and politically. I believe in a revitalization of the “good old core issues”, while new topical issues on the agenda.

The party’s leaders and members of parliament have a good ability to “take the ball” where the current debate here and now. We can only mention freedom of conscience for doctors on abortion, surrogacy, sorting society, child rights to parents, etc.

Democratic Party should be commended for that in every parliamentary term submits proposal to amend the abortion law, and that one of the program have found new positive approaches to legislate “right to life”. As an apropos to this I can mention that on several occasions I have heard Christian leaders and “church people” complain about the Christian Democratic weakness on abortion, but they are not aware of what is actually done in the parliament hall. There is thus a need for information to present, and perhaps also a need for party leaders more frequently when the opportunity arises “speaks against Rome” and says it “politically incorrect” media angled in a positive and natural way, whether it’s abortion , marriage or other important value questions.

Need for KrF
it needed a party who tirelessly and regardless of trends and opinions will work for the unborn child’s right to live . Fight against sorting society is currently highly topical, and the questions and cross upturns around biotechnology legislation is another example of areas where KrF makes an invaluable effort data. As mentioned, many are not aware of the dedication and professional skilled job done by party members of Parliament and politicians in this area.

Norway is built not only on a Christian heritage, but on a Christian legacy of faith. From the Christian heritage, roots and believe we can include and integrate people in a safe and diverse society where there is freedom of speech and religion. It means a society with the clear guidelines and responsibilities that protects freedom and options for each man. In this work can and should the Christian Democrats and Christian churches and organizations stand together, and Christian churches and organizations should provide KrF credit for the working party does in these areas.

Democratic Party is on the pitch in recent times current affairs, f. Ex climate and environment. With its strong focus on human dignity, the Party can see challenges and situations with fresh eyes and be politically innovative. The good stuff is there, but it must work with clarification and dissemination in a society where the media all too often set the agenda. My periodontal injuries without is that there is great need for a value-based party Christian Democratic Party in our country today.

Church and party in various roles
Although Krf from the start wanted to be “salt and light” in the country, I see it so that this task is not primarily belong to a political party. It is the church that should be “salt and light” in the country. When some conservative Christian groups blame the Democratic Party for “the wickedness of the country”, it falls on its own absurdity.
Church’s main task is, of course, the proclamation of Jesus Christ, and we can imagine what it would mean for Christian values if many more believed and there was greater growth in churches and Christian communities. Much of the strength we see in KrF’s history is linked to national revival and that the Christian faith was stronger in the country. Church are not to be partisan, but it is also a problem when churches and congregations do not dare to be positive on the court in social issues. It weakens the church, that weakens the community and it weakens indirect KrF. Here they have different roles, but still should work stronger for the same cause. It will serve both churches and Krf that work is to clarify this distribution of roles.
Within “Christian-Norway” made a number of good society engaging work as f. ex abuse services, social work, schools and education, but much more can and should be both practical and at distinct voice. Here is Krf an important partner that makes a big effort and open way in the politikse environment.

Most people want a church that is not only a master of ceremonies and a service institution, but a guide for life . This is fully in line with the church’s great leader and exemplar, Jesus Christ. With Jesus as a common example and model, “Christian-Norway” and KrF develop their different roles, working in a number of fields, and rise up in love and truth without judgmental attitudes.

Some conservative Christians have lost belief KrF. Some of them have chosen to leave the party and others have started small Christian wing portions. In that case one goes the same purpose as those who do not want a Christian value party at all! KrF should not use powers to fight neither them or others, but it challenges the party to justify its values and stand with even greater clarity and boldness.

3. Christian and POLITICAL CENTER

“Christian people” or “Christian-Norway” is ambiguous term, and the variation in both theology traditions and methods of the various Christian denominations, churches and organizations, is very large.
This may in some cases be a challenge for the Christian Democrats, and it will be impossible for KrF which political party to meet all different needs from Christian quarters. Some of these expectations are also outside the area of politics.

On the other hand, KrF sometimes take take a stand where theology, bishops and church come to different conclusions. In important value questions that have consequences for social development must KrF have a clear voice. The new marriage law is one example of this challenge as previously mentioned, and where Krf in my opinion have to find a way that clearly protects the historical and biblical marriage understanding, while it implemented a policy that works in today’s society.

in spite of differences, theological and methodological, there are several unit factors in “Christendom” that gathers wide. There are a wide Christian, interdenominational mainstream where Christian Democratic Party in my opinion has had and should have its strongest impact area, and also in practice find their closest partners in influencing social development. At the same time KrF work actively for the full range of Christian churches and organizations, and also be an important partner and support and all the “volunteers Norway”.

Conservatism and Christian humanism
We today we have what we might call a “Christian arch conservative wing” of “Christian-Norway”. If value conservatism goes into fanaticism and confuse church and politics, it lies outside the Christian Democrat area and what the party can identify with. Such Christian communities will never experience KrF as a party that is “Biblical enough” or “Christian enough” for them, and nor is it the kind of value conservatism that has characterized the development of the party since its inception more than eighty years ago. Meanwhile, I note that conservatism is not a negative word, and that healthy konservativsme have their place both within the church and politics.

There is also another extreme which might be called “Christian humanism” where you basically advocates a type of tolerance and humanism that neither lead the way or is evident in many value questions. The secular humanism of our time new people religion in Europe, and it has great influence in the political environment, but also far into the church and Christian circles. This represents a mindset that has neutrality and tolerance as trademarks, and differ in my opinion both the traditional Christian faith and of the ideology and the values that historically underlies the Christian Democratic Party politics. Unfortunately, we see more and more in our society that tolerance has “one way street”, for those responsible for Christian values demanded a tolerance that they did not even meet with. The issue of freedom of conscience for doctors on abortion is one examples of this. It may be called “the intolerant tolerance”.

Christian and political center
course should not the Christian Democrats identified with one particular type of church or theology, or with a narrow value conservative group of Christians. Nevertheless KrF as a Christian value party to some extent choose what kind of faith-party should have. KrF is politically a centrist. In my opinion belongs KrF core home in the city, both politically and in the Christian landscape.

It is not the Christian Democratic Party to interpret theological questions, or respond to what is sin, or right and wrong in every situation. This belongs to the church and theology area. But if the church fails and is indistinct, it will in some questions make it harder for KrF stand for Christian values.
My conclusion is that KrF will find their bedrock in the broad and diverse Christian center, both inside and outside the Norwegian Church. Meanwhile, a value-based and popular KrF be broadly based among people no matter where they are or are not in relation to the Christian faith.

Somewhere the limits of what a party that carries Christian name can accept in relation to morals and values. This is especially important in a changing world, and where the Christian foundation is no longer a matter of course, and how Christian faith and culture is challenged by a religious and cultural diversity.
