Android handsets are your best choice if you are looking to get your hands on a big device as they currently have one of the largest handsets on the market – the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Although Apple have made the iPhone 5 bigger too, it is still nowhere near as big as some of the other bigger screened handsets available at the moment and for that reason many users seeking to buy a device with a large screen will be looking at Android handsets instead.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 & S3 vs iPhone 5: measuring up the competition
Even though the successor for the Samsung Galaxy S3 has now been released, the S4, it would not be fair to compare this device as it has been made to copete up against the future Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the iPhone 6. Therefore we will be comparing the Samsung Galaxy S3 instead. Let's begin.
As far as sales figures from last year are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S3 beat the iPhone 5. PopHerald released a report a little while ago stating that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is heading to the number one spot at a very quick pace. According to the blog the supply checks with several different retailers have shown us that for every 2 units of the Samsung Galaxy S3 that are sold, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sells 3 units.
Obviously there are a number of things other than just the screen size that you want to take into consideration if you are moving from the iPhone to one of the Samsung devices. Lets have a look at the two Samsung handsets.
When choosing between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, the handsets are very similar. They look very uch alike althought the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with a screen of 5.5 inches. They both come with a camera of 8 megapixels as well. There are however a few big differences between them. One is that the Galaxy Note 2 is the more recent device to come out and comes with a far more powerful processor than the Galaxy S3.
In the US the Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a dual core processor and 2GB of RAM while the international version is a quad core and has 1GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with the quad core processor of 1.6GHz and has 2GB of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes preinstalled with Jelly Bean and has the bigger battery of the two devices and provides a longer battery life. The Samsung Galaxy comes with ICS, however if you are with AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile then you can update your device. This is not yet an option with Verizon or US Cellular.
If you are looking to get the most up to date specs and technology then the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes out on top. Although because it is a big handset it doesn't appeal to everybody. If you are moving up from the iPhone and not looking so get something that is a dreat deal bigger than what you are used to then the Sasung Galaxy S3 is a brilliant choice.
