Chief Ole Bernt Thorbjørnsen in Haugesund suggest that one in four long-term patients in the municipality should plan on staying in double until 2018.

HAUGESUND: It appears in the” memorandum on the use of double the budget and financial plan “which was submitted under municipal day meeting on the municipal budget on Tuesday.

– Number of double the municipality long term departments reduced continuously, in line with professional assessments made by municipal decision office. The municipality’s aim is double the long-term departments should be discontinued when Vardafjellet reopens the second half of 2018, writes alderman.

Today live 58 long-term patients on double occupancy, a case that has created great involvement in population since they first inhabitants were placed on double after Stølen nursing home was closed down on 1 September.

It was the consequence of a decision Haugesund City Council made on 27 May, to save 1.3 million in the misguided municipal economy.

The chief administrative officer last proposal means that 98 must stay in a double in 2.5 years while Vardafjellet rehabilitated.

Thorbjørnsen in connection with the use of double considered three different options:

1. Closing Vardafjellet under rehabilitation: Provides 49 doubles and in line with the proposed budget and finance plan.

2. Partially closing Vardafjellet: 30 doubles. Costing 16 million more than proposed 1

3. Vardafjellet open during rehabilitation: 15 doubles. Costing 26 million more than proposed 1
