Afghanistan demands to stop forced returns from Norway – TV 2

The Afghan Foreign Ministry demands that Norway stop all forced returns to the country. It emerges from a note the Afghan Foreign Ministry sent to the Norwegian Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

REQUESTS full stop forced returns are justified by both the security and humanitarian situation in the country has deteriorated .

Forced Returns from Norway to Afghanistan will lead to human rights violations, cautioned it.

Secretary Jørn Kallemyr ( FRP) in the Ministry of Justice makes it clear to the TV 2 Norway not going to stop all tvangsreturene. He says Norway relate to return agreement concluded until it is negotiated a new one.

– The Ministry of Justice will now take the initiative and try to expedite negotiations on a new return agreement with Afghanistan, he said.

The note refers to the fact that last year was forcibly sent far more people to Afghanistan than in previous years. The Afghan authorities have in previous letters to the Norwegian authorities have been particularly critical of forced return of families to the displacement.

Last year it was forcibly sent 84 children from Norway to Afghanistan, while in previous years were not returned families to Afghanistan at all.

Roundtrip Afghanistan

Afghanistan refused later this week to accept an Afghan who was forcibly sent from Gardermoen airport in Kabul. Police Immigration confirmed to TV 2 that the man had returned and came back to Norway yesterday.

REQUESTS stop forced returns are sent to eight European countries.
