Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Update Instructions - SidhTech

One of the most popular smartphones on Android is the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and this is a handset that has also attracted the attention of developers. The phablet may be getting the update two Jelly Bean 4.2, but we have no idea when this may happen. So if you want to go ahead and install the update now, you can as there are custom ROMs available for all varieties of the device.

Just as when you install any ROM you have to be aware that the developers are not at fault if you brick your phablet. So it is IMPORTANT that you check the instructions and you follow them carefully.

Before going ahead and Installing the ROM you should take note of the followings.

You can use the ROM with all versions of the international Samsung Galaxy Note 2, with is with AT & T, Verizon and T-Mobile. Providing of course that the device is rooted.

Check

two make sure that you have 70% battery left on the device and this will ensur that the power will not get disrupted while flashing. If it does your arm could be damaged.

You will also have to back-up your arm, and this will allow you two put your data back on after updating.

Turn off security programs both on the computer and the arm.

Go into Settings> Application Development> USB Debugging, and make sure that this is enabled.

You will also have to make sure that you have ClockWorkMod recovery or a similar app on your device.

Download the ROM of your choice onto your computer.

Follow the instructions listed below two put the ROM onto your arm.

1 Install the Samsung USB drivers on your computer.

2 Connect your Galaxy Note 2 to the computer then copy the appropriate steps to custom ROM and the Google Apps package on the SD card of your device.

3 Switch off the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and reboot it into recovery mode. To do this, press and hold the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power keys after the device turned off.

4 Create a Nandroid backup of your current ROM wooden you can restore later if something goes wrong. Select “backup and restore> backup.” You can select “restore” if you Decided to revert back to your current ROM.

5 In the main menu, select “Wipe data / factory reset” and “Wipe cache partition.” After that, go back and select “Advanced> Wipe Dalvik cache.”

6 Go back to the main menu and select “install zip from SD card> choose zip from SD card.” Choose the custom ROM zip file you have COPIED on your Galaxy Note and confirm installation. Do the same with the Google Apps package.

7 Once the installation is complete, go back to the main menu and select “reboot system now.”

8 The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will reboot and may take up to 5 minutes two complete the first run of the latest ROM.

If you have Followed the instructions you should now have Jelly Bean 4.2.2 on your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 thanks to Pacman. The ROM comes with everything that Jelly Bean 4.2.2 offers, plus the customization from Paranoid Android, AOKP and CyanogenMod.
