Samsung has promised Android 4.3 for the Galaxy Note 2 some time this month, but now a pre-release build has surfaced for the brave ones amongst you to try out.
The test build is named N7100XXUEMI6 and works only on the GT-N71000 model. It's a fairly early build and so is probably relatively unstable, and was originally leaked to the Tinhe forums before being made available on XDA in the last few days.
The update is relatively substantial, and features many of the UI elements that are currently only found on the S4 and Note 3, as well as supposedly featuring speed and performance enhancements. This new build also features Samsung's Knox security software, as well as Samsung Wallet for contactless payments.
As with all of these types of things, feel free to flash the build but only if you're aware of the risks. The build is unverified and unstable, and it's not our fault if you brick your device in the process. Still, it's nice to be able to preview the update before it lands – I'd just have a nandroid backup on your SD card to flash back to once the novelty has worn off.
Alongside updating the Note 2, Samsung has promised Android 4.3 for the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3 this month for international users and during November for others. How much longer we'll have to wait remains unseen, but at least now we know what will be onboard.
If you do flash the software, please let us know how you get on with it!
