The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 come from the same mould. They share the same looks and buttons, as the Samsung Galaxy S4 doesn't have many changes.
When Samsung revealed the first Samsung Galaxy Note there were some people who said that it was too large and that it wouldn't sell. The good news for Samsung is that it was very popular and people loved it. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 came along and it was larger and had a bigger display, but it didn't look too much bigger as the bezel was thin. The phablet has a display of 5.5 inches compared to the 4.99 inches of the Samsung Galaxy S4. One fo the biggest difference is that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a full 1080p HD display and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with the HD screen of 720p.
If your hands are large you won't have any issues with the phablet. But you may want to get yourself a headset if you are going to be talking for a long time.
The hardware of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was a big change compared to that of the Samsung Galaxy S4. The device has 2GB of RAM along with the Exynos 1.6GHz processor that is quad core. The Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with 2GB of RAM and it also has two sets of quad cores. One of these is used from the minor tasks, with the other taking over when they are needed.
You get a battery of 3100mAh on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2; the original version has a battery of 2500mAh. You may get around 12 hours talk time with the handset. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a battery of 2600mAh and this offers the same amount of talk time. Both of the devices have LTE support.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with a camera of 8MP along with one of 1.9 on the front. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 13MP camera along with a camera of 1.2 on the front. For taking photos in low light this is great, while the speed of the shutter is fast too.
There is an S Pen with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which has seen improvements over the original and offers a feel as though you are writing with pen using paper. As soon as you remove the S Pen out of the dock you have access to Easy Clip and Air View.
What does stand out is the multi-window feature. You can open two apps in different windows and the resize them. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was shown with features that allow you to hover your finger over your display. It comes with dual camera and has eye tracking, but it lacks the S Pen.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 has changed the world of phablets and to date around 5 million copies have been sold. there are some who will remain with a smaller handset, but these people will miss out on the larger display, the S Pen and the larger battery for longer life.
